Councillors approved a development application for Dudley Private Hospital to expand its premises, with a suggestion to add a bicycle rack to cover the loss of 10 car spaces.

Meanwhile, at the Bloomfield Medical Centre site, a planning proposal was put forward to rezone land to commercial to cater for a future 1600 square metre supermarket.

Councillors voted to put the proposal to the state government through the gateway process, with public consultation still to come.

A vehicle repai shop was approved for the former ambulance helicopter facility at Redmond Place.

Orange Show Society president Peter Naylor made an appeal to the council to support stable hire during the show, while Orange Regional Conservatorium executive officer Donna Riles appealed to put the combined conservatorium and planetarium project at the top of the priority list.
