He will have a chance to impress Test captain Tim Paine, who will lead the side in the three four-day matches in July, with vice-captains Josh Hazelwood and Travis Head also playing in the side after missing World Cup selection when the squad was announced this week.
His Victorian teammates Marcus Harris, Will Pucovski, Peter Hanscomb, Jon Holland and James Pattinson will also take part in the tour, with Pattinson, Hazelwood, Tremain, Michael Neser and forgotten Tasmanian seamer Jackson Bird all jostling for places in the pace attack.
The Australia A tour is aiming to give Test players not a part of the World Cup squad a chance to acclimatise ahead of the Ashes, which begin on August 1, as well as allow test prospects like Pucovski and the Sheffield Shield season's leading run-scorer in 2018-19 Matthew Wade to make their case for selection.
Tremain finished the Sheffield Shield season - which Victoria won - with 45 wickets from his 20 innings with the ball, with 5-13 his best figures for the season and one of three five-wicket hauls for the season.
He was called into the Test squad at the start of the summer, but was leapfrogged by young quick Jhye Richardson when Josh Hazelwood was injured before the start of the two-test series against Sri Lanka in January and February.
Peter Siddle also appeared ahead of Tremain in the pecking order, with the Victorian workhorse named 12th man ahead of the Yeoval-born young gun.
