His mother Sandy lost her battle with cancer last year, having spent more than two decades as one of Orange's driving forces in the push to find a cure for the disease.
Next month he will go under the waxing paper when Cowra Motors - the family business - holds its own morning tea, which aims to raise $3000 for research, prevention and support programs.
I've always done Pink Ribbon Day, Daffodil Day and Relay for Life, and we decided we'd stick with the morning tea even though she is not with us.

His father, Frank, said his family and staff were supporting the push.
"At the moment cancer is the biggest killer in Australia, we need to raise money so we can find a cure," he said.
"Everybody has been touched, either with a family member or friend, or they know of someone with cancer.
"So we are all right behind it and would love to have everyone come, sit down have a chat and enjoy the morning with us."
Mr Ostini said Sandy's dedication to the cause was a driving force behind their plans.
"I've always done Pink Ribbon Day, Daffodil Day and Relay for Life, and we decided we'd stick with the morning tea even though she is not with us," he said.
Was he looking forward to seeing his son's chest hairs ripped out?
"There is quite a bit of hair on his chest, so there could be some tears," Mr Ostini said.
The morning tea will be held on May 23 from 10.30am-12pm. There is also a GoFundMe page where donations can be made: www.gofundme.com/cowramotors.
