And in a result that'll bring a wry smile to the face of a few two blues fans, Sullivan's Tigers went down 16-12 in a thriller at Harry Elliot Park, Tuncurry.
Wingham shot out to a 12-0 lead but couldn't kick on and eventually lost by four points after Hawks centre Ben Murray crashed over the line in the dying minutes of the 2019 season opener on the mid-north coast.
Forster Tuncurry coach Phil Adamson was happy with his side's win despite the high number of errors from both teams throughout the match, and believes the Hawks had a promising side going forward.
Sullivan is joined by a couple of other CYMS premiership winners in black and gold this year, too, with Kyran Bubb on deck as well as another Wingham junior who enjoyed a title in green and gold back in 2010, Trent Green.
