Dr Barbara MacTaggart will guest speak at the meeting which will run from 7:30pm at the Senior Citizens Centre on Kite Street.
Dr MacTaggart will talk about swampy meadows of the upper catchments of the Central West - their dramatic decline and destruction and the need for their restoration.
The meeting will be followed with a visit to a swampy meadow at Neville on Sunday, lead by Dr Andrew Rawson.
Dr Rawson has a background in agriculture science and has worked for the Department of Environment and Climate Change and Charles Sturt University.
The group will meet at the Orange High School bus bay at 9am.
The naturalists society promotes the study, conservation and enjoyment of nature in the Orange district through presentations and excursions.
