His daughter in-law Niki Drage was struggling to find public spaces to breastfeed comfortably, so he set about finding a modern solution.

Mr Drage, alongside son Nicholas Drage, created the mobile application Feed My Baby, which allows users to search their location for places which welcome feeding mums.

The app currently uses publicly available information from the Breastfeeding Association of Australia to let people know which public arenas, cafes and restaurants are baby friendly.

Mr Drage said the next stage would be to build up a more comprehensive data set using user reviews of venues.

"Our daughter in-law is a very mobile centric parent, like most are these days," he said.

"While there was a list of friendly places available there wasn't anything you searched in location to where you are."

Mr Drage said this was especially relevant with feeding baby Emma, as she often accompanied her mum who travelled between Parkes, Dubbo and Sydney for her work as an agility dog trainer.

He said through user reviews the app will allow mums to see which venues contain the facilities his daughter in-law sought in the early days and things they look for now Emma is a toddler.

The app reviews will show if cafes offer private spaces, change tables and food and bottle warming.

While the app is currently limited to Orange, throughout the Central West and the Blue Mountains, with the help of app developers McDonell IT and early adopters of the technology, the Drages plan to expand across the country.
