Police attended the scene of a single-vehicle accident on The Escort Way at 11.45am on July 7, 2018, where a car driven by Tae Yang Lee, 39, of Elberta Street, had ended up in an embankment and with extensive damage.
Lee admitted to drinking the bottle of vodka, starting before midnight and finishing in the early hours of the morning, as well taking prescribed medication.
Officers observed Lee was "extremely talkative" and took him to Orange hospital, where a blood test revealed a reading of 0.146.
He was given an $1100 fine and a three-month disqualification, and will require a mandatory interlock device for the next 12 months.
Solicitor Clive Hill said his client "wasn't a regular drinker", was taking medication for mental illness, and had a clean driving record over the past 15 years.
