WHY is it inappropriate to stand up for your rights and oppose a development that decreases the value of your property, just because that development is being built to house lower socioeconomic residents or disadvantaged persons?
When you paid a premium for that land or building, in an area that you believed warranted that premium, but the majority of your elected representatives on your council have no interest in protecting your choices, there is something wrong.
Can any councillor on Orange City Council admit to voting to approve a development that would lower the value of any home or property they owned?
Housing Plus appears emboldened by their recent success in George Weily Place, aided by the council.
It appears they believe they have carte blanche rights to do what they please with whatever land they please in Orange, safe in the knowledge that the council will waive their development through.
