There's nothing like a sprint on the bike to get the heart pumping, and keeping the heart going was the inspiration for nearly 100 riders at Orange Central Fitness on Saturday.

The Ride for Defibrillator was - as the name suggests - raising money for a defibrillator at the Orange Arcade, adding to the increasing number of the heart re-starting machines around the city, which can increasingly be found in sporting clubs and precincts.
Orange Central Fitness owner and manager Simon Livingstone said adding another one in the arcade was a logical decision.
If it ever comes the time where we need it it's better being here than not.

"In the arcade we've got quite a few physical things, two dance studios, a karate studio across the hall, yoga studio and we've got the physiotherapists as well and they deal with some high-risk patients from time to time," he said.
So, the gym combined with several other businesses in the arcade to raise funds to buy a machine for the centre, with the total of at least $3500 raised on Saturday, with more to be counted.
"We had between 90 and 100 riders and raised somewhere between $3500 and $4000 which is well and truly purchased, which is good," Mr Livingstone said.
The event was one of regular events held by the gym, who regularly liaise with Canobolas Lions Club to raise funds for various community projects.
"This time we've decided to do something closer to home," Mr Livingstone said.
"I suppose [cardiac health] is something we're aware of, it's something we've spoken of as a health facility ... it's probably something at the back of our minds.
"We've had a couple of members with close shaves but members have all made it to the hospital but if it ever comes the time where we need it it's better being here than not."
However, he said awareness of how useful defibrillators could be was increasing their number.
"I've seen them in a couple of the sporting facilities, Orange CYMS, down at Wade Park, one at Morton Park and there are a few around are they're starting to crop up," he said.
