Anyone who has watched Orange councillor Glenn Taylor operate over the years knows he can be either tenacious or stubborn, depending on how you view him.
However his push to see Orange secure another swimming pool is not without merit.
Orange Aquatic Centre is a busy place and demand for lanes and lessons is high.
When the Orange Ex-Services' pool closes demand will only increase particularly as the 600 or more children who take swimming lessons there will be looking for a new place to go.
While Cr Taylor is correct in identifying a need, it remains to be seem whether Orange City Council taking over the Ex-Services' is the best solution.
You can't help but worry that taking over a facility that's riddled with problems will only bring headaches for council and ratepayers alike.
In the meantime we may as well wait until a feasibility study elevates the debate from guess work and pipe dreams into real facts and dollars and cents.
