POLICE and emergency services were called to the scene of a fatal crash in the Bathurst CBD where a 33-year-old male pedestrian was hit and killed by a truck.

The incident occurred around 12.15pm near the intersection of William and Durham streets.
The road was closed to westbound traffic with all vehicles were diverted onto Bentinck and Brilliant streets.
The truck's driver, 49-year-old man, was taken to Bathurst hospital for mandatory blood and urine analysis.
The pedestrian is yet to be formally identified.
Officers from Chifley Police District attended and have established a crime scene.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash have commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
