His Victorian side already had a spot in the JLT Sheffield Shield final locked up but with a player-of-the-game performance in the final regular-season round Kinross product Chris Tremain made sure the Bushrangers will enter that decider as red-hot favourites.

Tremain snared game figures of 7-72 as the Vics decimated South Australia by seven wickets at Adelaide's Karen Rolton Oval, their sixth victory of the 2018-19 summer and a vital one leading into their fourth grand final appearance in the past five seasons.
They'll be gunning for their fourth victory as well having claimed victory in all of their recent appearances, and they'll take on Tremain's old state in NSW after the Blues thrillingly knocked off Tasmania to book their place in the decider at St Kilda's Junction Oval.
The haul, in which he took 3-38 in the Redbacks' first dig and 4-34 in the second, pushed Tremain's season tally to 42 scalps at an average of 22.61, continuing his stunning form over the last few summers and placing him well with spots for Australia's Ashes tour on the line.
The Blues will be full of confidence after downing the Matthew Wade-led Tasmanians, in particular in-form all-rounder Sean Abbot, who led NSW to victory with a stunning, seven-wicket haul in the final round.
NSW needed a victory at Hobart to qualify for the decider and after a sporting declaration that left the Tigers chasing 270 to win on the final day, Abbott claimed 7-20 in a spellbinding stint to decimate Tasmania for just 120.
Wade produced 65 of those in a dogged, back-to-the-wall innings and moved past 1000 runs for the season in doing so, but with no support from the rest of his side his effort mattered little outside the personal milestone.
"It's nice to be taking wickets at important stages," Abbott said after the game, with Bathurst product Trent Copeland also finishing with match figures of 8-119.
"To get your team into a final on the last day and do your job well is a great feeling personally.
"I'm very proud of everyone. Not just the bowlers but the fielding group and the batters that have got through some tough stages as well.
"There's plenty of confidence within the group but at the same time we're pretty focused on how we want to go."
The Sheffield Shield final starts on Thursday, March 28.
