"They're a resilient group," Morris said.

"They're a tough team and not much seems to faze them so they enjoy defending their line.

"A lot of adversity with players playing out of position and blokes who were busted that probably needed to come off."

After being held scoreless by Canberra last week, the loss places pressure on coach Garth Brennan.

Despite having more possession (52 per cent to 48), winning the penalty count (14-5) and making fewer errors (15-18), the Titans never really looked dangerous.

After 128 minutes of football, the Titans got their first try of the 2019 season when Brenko Lee snuck over after a Jai Arrow break.

Queensland Origin forward Arrow was a shining light in an otherwise dour performance, running for 299 metres, busting 7 tackles and making two linebreaks.

The Titans got over the line twice in the opening five minutes through Ryan James and Arrow but both times they were denied by the bunker.

The Sharks proceeded to take the game out of the visitors' hands, putting on three tries in 10 minutes including a double to Sione Katoa.

"At the moment we're a team hoping to win, not a team believing we can win," Brennan said.

"We're a bit down on confidence at the moment. We were there over the tryline four times and couldn't get a break and couldn't deal with the disappointment.

"I'm not going to make excuses (with halves Ash Taylor and Tyrone Roberts being out), the players we're putting out there are quality players."
