Students comprising 19 boys and 19 girls, all in year six and under, travelled from Dubbo, Parkes, Bathurst, West Wyalong, Mudgee, Cowra and Orange, all vied for the team.
A knockout format was contested, where eventually it was narrowed down to the final six boys and six girls.
Those that were chosen will represent our region at the NSW PSSA Championships at Inverell from May 6-10.
Among the successful students who played well and will be going to Inverell are Stephanie Gersbach (OPS) and Ruby Holmes (OPS), twins Billy and Sam Rollin (Calare) and Angus McDonald (OPS).
Other team members included students from Parkes, Dubbo, Eglinton and Blayney. This will be a great experience for our juniors and we wish them well.
Our club's juniors who were chosen have benefited greatly from playing in our Turn Up Tuesday Junior Comp every Tuesday afternoon where they've been getting plenty of practice.
There were 18 kids who played this week and the winners who received the medals were Billy Rollin and Stephanie Gersbach, both finishing on 18 games.
Right on their heels and all sharing 17 games were Ruby Holmes, Darcy Schofield, Sam Rollin, Kaydn McLachlan and Georgia Oakes.
On the social side, we cater well for players every week.
There is the A Grade every Monday at 7pm, Night Comp every Wednesday at 6.30pm, Ladies Social every Thursday at 9 a.m. and the mixed social every Sunday at 1.30pm.
For juniors, as well as the Tuesday Comp at 5pm, there is Hot Shots every Friday from 3.30-5.30pm and Coaching Clinics every school holidays.
We welcome all players who would like to come along and join in on any of these days. For all enquiries about any of the above or to hire a court anytime then please phone the clubhouse on 6362 8020.
This Sunday for Mixed Social, committee man Brian Petty will be on duty to organize the sets and lucky Rick Taylor won the free hit voucher last week.
The Autumn night comp is continually being well supported. The ladies winners this week were Jo Kingham on three sets/18 games, Lindy Crossley two/20 and Chris Dyet one/13. Men's winners were Andy Cannon three/21, Daniel Kozul three/19 and Greg Redfern two/18.
