The business received the Innovation Excellence Agency of the Year at the Australasian Real Estate Results Awards, which took into account the New Year's Eve Party Under the Stars, Community Chest and the Ultimate Giveaway. 

McCormack Barber director Peter McCormack said many of the agencies in the RER group were far larger, and the win was a surprise.

"[Last year's winners] have a team of 20 developers and a wellness centre in their offices. It was incredibly humbling," he said. 

Mr McCormack hoped the award was a sign the business was ahead of the curve.

The agency also recently welcomed another member to its property management team, Tiffany Taber.

Mr McCormack said Ms Taber was "incredibly good at problem solving".

"Property management is working out a win-win for tenants and landlords and she's got a great way of negotiating things," he said. 

MICHAEL Hill Jewellers is set to leave its premises on the corner of Summer and Anson streets, but it remains unclear whether the store will close or move elsewhere.

The property has been listed for lease, offering two street frontages and a high rate of passing traffic.

Michael Hill did not respond at the time of publication.

ONE of the CBD's prime retail locations is up for auction on April 2.

The Summer Street building containing Bed, Bath and Table, Blue Illusion, Got It Discount Variety and United Dance Project upstairs has been listed for sale.

The property has been listed as a "fastidiously maintained" building with an average lease expiry of five-and-a-half years.

Rental income has been estimated at more than $310,000 a year. 

LUCKNOW'S pub is soon to undergo renovations, with the Goldfields Tavern under contract to be sold.

John Parsons Hotels director Greg Haines said the buyers were from the region.

"It will be a great benefit to the area having people who know the industry," he said.
