Van Duyen Chau, 49 of Pearl Circuit, represented himself in Orange Local Court on Monday after his blue Toyota Corolla was pulled over on Hill Street just before midday on December 22.
Police said Chau was asked for his licence and he replied it was taken from him.
Further checks revealed he had been stopped twice on June 5, arrested and charged with the same offence, and was later disqualified in court until September 26 this year.
'YOU KNOW I DON'T HAVE ONE': DRIVER WARNED AGAIN
A DRIVER who failed to reapply for his licence before going back on the road has been removed again.
Brian John Hammond, 41 of Dalton Street, was convicted on two counts of driving with a cancelled licence and was taken off the road for a further six months with no further penalty.
Police said officers were patrolling Dalton Street just after midday on October 21 when they spotted Hammond's silver Toyota Camry before pulling him over.
Asked for his licence, Hammond told police, "you know I don't have one".
Then on November 15, police pulled him over again just after 2.30pm because his car was unregistered.
Asked for his licence, Hammond told police, "you know I don't have one".
NSW Roads and Maritime Services cancelled Hammond's licence in July after he was disqualified for four months in March for driving under the influence of drugs.
His registration was also cancelled in July.
Magistrate David Day said he usually reminded drivers before the court to reapply for their licences once their disqualifications were up.
"Because I don't want them to come back for driving while cancelled," he said.
