Cavs sit 12 points clear of the Warriors after the weekend's game with one round to go, setting up a clash for second place next week when Orange City play CYMS next weekend.
Building off the back of a mammoth 374 in the first innings, Cavs restricted City to just 153 off 53 overs with century-makers Ryan Kurtz and Josh Doherty backing up their massive totals with the bat to do damage with the ball.
Kurtz snared 4-31 from 11 overs and Doherty 3-55 off 15 as Hugh Middleton, Mitch Black and Cam Laird all claimed a scalp each.
Kurtz said there was "a bit of buzz around the boys" having all but secured the minor premiership, and said it was "good to get results, from a personal level and a team level".
He said bowling in partnership with Black gave him the chance to "be more aggressive", which was something he enjoyed.
Blake Weymouth top-scored with 43 for the Warriors and despite support from Nathan Rosser and Shaun Grenfell, who both made 28, when Weymouth and Grenfell both fell with the score on 117 there wasn't much more resistance in the shed a side still dejected from Friday's Royal Hotel Cup defeat, losing 7-35.

However, the Warriors' dig wasn't the weekend's worst collapse in first grade, as Centrals lost 7-26 to hand Kinross a 105-run win.
In just the students' third win for the year, Angus Cumming and Ed Taylor combined to take all 10 Centrals wickets, with Taylor snaring 5-18 and Cumming 5-32 as they sent down 25 of Centrals' 38.2 overs.
At one stage Centrals lost an incredible five wickets for just one run as Cumming and Taylor tore through the order like a knife through butter, dismissing Nathan Gander with the score on 82 before former teammate Fletcher Rose, Daryl Kennewell, Wes Roweth and Zac Reimer could all only add one more.
Jake Pauletto and Jack Dodds both finished with 18 to top score for Centrals, but the resumption saw a messy collapse as Dodds could only add five to the overnight score of 3-63 before departing.
The loss means Centrals, who have the bye next week, are out of finals calculations with one round to go in the ODCA competition.
