Orange City Council and LiveBetter’s Café Connect are offering cooking classes for older people who live by themselves.
Chef Jamie Stewart will lead a small group to prepare a dinner to take home, alongside recipe cards to replicate the steps at home.
Orange City Council’s Services Policy Committee Chair Stephen Nugent said the classes were low cost and designed to show people it could be cheap and easy to make healthy meals at home.
“This is a great collaboration between Council and LiveBetter and is designed to give older people the best health outcomes possible,” Cr Nugent said.
“It’s a great opportunity to get some practical advice, hands-on help and you get to meet people in the same boat.”
Classes are on every Monday afternoon for the next month and cost $7. Transport options are available.
