The voting centre for the state election seat of Orange is being run from the former office of a company with the same name as one of the candidates.
The former Hazelton Airlines building in Peisley Street will be used for early voting and administration of the election.
Nationals candidate Kate Hazelton married into the Hazelton's Airlines family.
"My husband is Richard, his uncle is Max (a founder of the airline)," she said.
Election officials have painted over the old Hazelton Airlines signs to ensure there are no links or confusion for voters.
But Mrs Hazelton is hoping it might be a good thing.
"It could be an omen," she said.
