A NSW National Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman said new signage and a small walking track bridge were still in progress.
Walking tracks and the Federal Falls Camping Area will open on the weekend and visitors have been reminded to obey all signs, including temporary signs.
The tracks used for the Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge will be available for the event.
In September last year National Parks and Wildlife Service ranger Steve Woodhall said tenders for the work were being prepared in Sydney with insurance money to cover the work.
Mr Woodhall said at the time recognised walking track repair companies would be invited to tender for the work which should take about eight weeks.
