A SAFETY campaign aimed at boosting awareness of motorcycles on the road has concluded, with the major prizes drawn.

The Ulysses Club Orange Branch ran the Joe Rider program during February, with members donning high-vis on the road.
President Lester Davis said saccadic masking, or the brain's habit of selectively blocking visual processing, meant drivers could miss motorcyclists.

"They need to turn their heads and focus for a moment," he said.
"[The campaign] was successful in the fact that a lot of people saw us riding with the Joe Rider vests on."
Member for Orange Phil Donato drew the prizes from entries printed in the Central Western Daily.
Ben Perriman won the first and second prizes, $500 vouchers from Woolworths and Bunnings, while Peter Perriman won third prize, a $500 voucher for Supercheap Auto.
