THE spate of vehicle-related crimes in Orange continued on the weekend, with cars and motorbikes targeted by criminals in the space of little more than 24 hours.

Central West Police District officers are investigating three matters related to vehicles being stolen or broken into in or near the city.
In the first incident, two vehicles were targeted on Anson Street between 3pm on Saturday and 8.30am on Sunday. A black Volkswagen was broken into and keys were taken, while a white Holden Rodeo was also broken into and a backpack was removed.

In the second incident three vehicles were raided at a south Orange location. A break and enter occurred on Sharp Road between 2am and 7.50am on Sunday, with entry gained via an unlocked rear door, and two sets of keys and a handbag containing further keys were taken by the thieves. At the same location three vehicles were broken into and cash, an iPhone and a TV were stolen.
In the final vehicle-related crime of the weekend a break and enter occurred on Ophir Road at about 6.20pm. Entry was gained to a shed, and a trailer and two motorbikes were taken.
In an unrelated matter police on Friday charged a 21-year-old man with possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and possessing a prohibited drug.
Police claim that during a search warrant nunchucks and machetes were located, along with 11.6 grams of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. The man was issued with a notice to attend court to face the charges, and will appear before Orange Local Court on March 25.
Elsewhere a break and enter occurred on Leura Place between 1.20pm and 1.40pm on Sunday. Entry to the premises was gained via a window, and an electric motor and Asian sword were stolen.
