Rate My Agent, an Australia-wide website which asks property vendors and purchasers to rate their experiences, held an event in Melbourne late last month.
Director Ash Brown, who also took out the best agent title, said the agency found out by email after the night.

"It took us by surprise in a really good way," he said.
Mr Brown paid tribute to the staff and their strategy of selling for the highest price in the shortest-possible time.
"This award is really for the team - it's impossible to do what we do with one person," he said.
"Buying and selling can be stressful so we try to take the stress out of the transaction."
PRICELINE CLOSES ITS DOORS IN MALL
ORANGE is down to one Priceline after the lease expired at the Orange Central Square store and it shut its doors on Sunday.
A Priceline spokeswoman said the store and a second franchise at Orange City Centre were 300 metres from one another and it made sense to focus on the one with the pharmacy component.
Of the 12 staff, seven have moved across, while the majority of the remainder have found jobs elsewhere.
"We really tried to look after the staff," the spokeswoman said.
REVIVE REVIVED IN SUMMER STREET STORE
REVIVE Furniture and Decor is now under fresh ownership at fresh premises.
Grant Dickson and his two daughters bought the Peisley Street business in early January before moving to 110 Summer Street, formerly home to Affordable Lighting.

Mr Dickson, who comes from a mining background, said it had been a steep learning curve.
"The opportunity came up and the girls wanted to try their hand at the business," he said.
Affordable Lighting's sister business, Central West Solar, is now at 202 Lords Place.
PET FOOD NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE
MARCH Street Pet Foods is now trading under the name Majestic Mobile Meats after closing its store.
Owner Dianne Williams said she and husband Paul decided to move to an online model with home delivery.
"By the time people come in [after work], it's 5.30pm and we're getting off," she said.
