Middleton terrorised Orange City's bowlers for the second time this season at Riawena Oval, swashbuckling his way to a century.
Middleton hit 16 fours and fix sixes on his way to 125, with his boundaries alone accounting for 100 of his runs, and the powerhouse opener whacked more than half of his side's total of 216 - and when he was dismissed Cavaliers only had 178 on the scoreboard.
It's the third ton of the season for Middleton and the second time he's plundered Orange City's second grade attack after hitting 159 against them in round nine.
Middleton also hit 160 in round five against Kinross.
In reply, Orange City were 0-42 off 25 overs heading into day two.
Meanwhile, Centrals had Kinross in a spin at 4-35 chasing their first-innings total of 230 on the first day of their two-day clash.
Roshan Eiseman toook 3-22 to help put the students in a hole, building on the hard work of Will Richard (43) and Ben Winslade (39) in Centrals' 64-over dig.
Meanwhile Kinross Super Kings and Kinross Blue played out a thrilling finish to their round 12 clash.
The cellar-dwelling Super Kings, who have won just two games for the season, fell six runs short of taking down their rivals who have sealed a minor premiership.
Angus Blyde was nearly the hero for the Super Kings, hitting 49 and seeing his side to within a shot of the total, before the Blues tossed the ball to Harry Gutterson for his first and only over of the day, when he bowled Blyde one run short of a half century.
Niamh McPhee was bowled next over to complete Kinross Blue's remarkable comeback to take 5-9 to defend their total, with Harry Sharpe playing a vital role with 4-27, including three at the death.
Darryn Majoram top-scored for the side with his second half-century on the trot, hitting 53 before retiring.
CYMS defeated Orange City in the other Centenary Cup game, chasing down the Warriors' 4-144 on the back of 50 not out from Daniel Miller and Michael Curran to win four wickets down.
In third grade, Manu Mohan fell agonisingly short of a ton as his Waratahs side couldn't quite make it to Centrals' total of 7-230.
Mohan was dismissed on 99, having scored the majority of his side's 134 runs when he was caught, and after he left Tahs could only reach 218 despite the best efforts of Abhilash Kaithamangalathu (36) and Rittu Thomas (35), while CYMS defeated Cavaliers by 55 runs.
