Ryan Kurtz and Josh Doherty both tonned up, hitting 117 and 101 not out respectively, while Bailey Ferguson made 92 as Cavaliers powered to 6-374 against City.
Jackson Coote was the pick of Orange City's bowlers with 2-58.
Meanwhile across town, Kinross were bowled out for 194 against Centrals, putting a big dint in the latter's need for an outright win in order to make finals.
Max Powell made 39 and George Cumming made 35 to anchor the students' innings as returning bowling gun Dan Sandford took 3-15 from 10 overs as Matty Ripps took 3-36 off 17.
Centrals were 3-63 in reply after two wickets to Gus Cumming put the students in a strong position with the second day of their game at Kinross Wolaroi School still to come.
