Central West Police District Inspector Dave Harvey said police were called to the address at about 9.50pm on Wednesday.
Two men - one wearing a balaclava - entered the premises demanding to see the 37-year-old woman's housemate, who wasn't home at the time.

Inspector Harvey said a "conversation took place, and the woman asked the men to leave".
When they didn't, she reached for her phone which was knocked out of her hands, with the man in the balaclava assaulting her.
Two more men entered the house before the woman fled through the front door and called for help. Neighbours heard her cry for help and phoned police.
We're encouraging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The men climbed into a white van and fled the scene, driving towards Molong Road.
The woman sustained minor injuries in the attack, and Inspector Harvey said nothing was stolen in the home invasion.
Police are still investigating a motive for the attack and detectives are on the scene, with Inspector Harvey saying "several exhibits" had been recovered from the address.
The first two men involved in the incident have been described as having medium build, dark grey pants with black stripes on them and "ageing skin".
The second man was described as "baby faced" and slightly taller than the first, while the white van was described as having a rear spoiler and lights under the front doors.
"We're encouraging anyone with information about the incident to come forward," Inspector Harvey said.
