It would seem that the CO2 (carbon dioxide) level on earth, at present, is 410 particles per million. The acceptable level is 180-220 ppm.
At the rate the earth is accumulating CO2 it will reach 500 ppm by 2050 – according to material on Google - though the evidence shows that it will be sooner.

The cause of this raising CO2, it is stated, is the coal burnt to fire electricity, particularly. Add to this the fumes from motor vehicles and the deforestation in many parts of the world.
The solution? People everywhere need to: walk more; bicycle more; turn off the lights; carpool; plant a tree, plus reduce the pace of procreation. Or maybe we should do nothing because it’s too late.
