Stephen Nugent will stand as the Greens party candidate in the seat of Orange for the state election on March 23.
He is currently a Greens party councillor on the the Orange City Council.
Cr Nugent stood for the Greens for the seat in the 2011 state election.

He is the sixth candidate to nominate for the seat following sitting member Phil Donato of the Shooters Fishers and Farmers party, Kate Hazelton (Nationals), Luke Sanger (Country Labor), Garry McMahon (Australian Conservatives) and Terri Ann Baxter (Independent).
Cr Nugent said he wanted to put more focus on environmental concerns in the election.
"No one is talking about climate change or other critical issues like land clearing, renewable energy, the recycling crisis or ongoing state government cuts to funding of important services and cost-shifting to local government," a party statement said.
Cr Nugent moved to Orange from Sydney with his wife and two daughters in 2001 and is the deputy CEO at OCTEC Limited.
