She said if elected she would push for more funding with several areas needing work.
“I was around Glenroi, there are areas there that are really lacking, I’d like to see more done there,” she said.

She said people were having to walk on roads because of the condition of footpaths.
“There was one place I was yesterday [Matthews Avenue] where you could see the mums in the prams with the little kids actually on the road because there was no footpath. We can’t have that. It was like ‘why’, we’ve got to get on top of that.
“There is a lot more to be done. I have been walking some areas and clearly there is not enough so I will really push for that.”

She said she would support Orange City Council’s priority list of repairs.
“I’d certainly support them in every way because I do believe that’s what people want. They don’t want to be in cars,” she said.
Mrs Hazelton said white and yellow markings on footpaths indicating work needing to be done should be turned into fixed paths.
“I think it’s not a good thing to see because we want to see [work done],” she said.
“People love to be out and about, young people, and old people on mobility scooters, they don’t want to be on the road, that’s unsafe so we need to be on these footpaths.”
Parliamentary secretary for Western NSW Rick Colless said the state government’s Stronger Country Communities fund had contributed $320,000 and council $370,000 for six footpath upgrades in Orange with two more to be started.
