As part of its upcoming 30th birthday celebration, CSU announced earlier this year that it was not only re-branding, but thinking about a name change.
CSU deputy vice chancellor Jenny Roberts said at the time she was not surprised that so many people had come forward with strong opinions on a potential name change.
We knew that it would get a lot of feedback because we knew people loved this university.

“We knew that it would get a lot of feedback because we knew people loved this university,” she said.
Since then more than 6200 people have signed a change.org petition calling for the university to keep its name.
A further 2190 people have taken part in a survey run by Australian Community Media, with 92.15 per cent (2018 votes) calling on the name.
Also in the ACM survey, 6.21 per cent (136 votes) said a name change was a good thing while a further 1.64 per cent (34 votes) were not sure.
