Central West Police District Chief Inspector Dave Harvey said just before midnight on Thursday, police spotted a Ford Falcon after receiving reports about erratic behaviour in Lone Pine Avenue. 

Police tried several times to pull it over as it led them along Bathurst Road, Eyles Street, Ellard Street, McLachlan Street, Churchill Avenue, Glenroi Avenue and Bardia Avenue before the car hit a pole at Glenroi Avenue and the occupants fled the car.

Then at 1.10am on Saturday, police were patrolling Glenroi when they noticed a vehicle reported stolen travelling on Adina Crescent.

Police signalled the vehicle to stop but it accelerated away, leading police onto Bundarra Crescent, then Kurim Avenue onto Dairy Creek Road. 

Police called off the pursuit due to safety before the care lost control on a lefthand bend and ended up in a paddock, causing extensive damage to the car and the driver fled. 

That evening in an unrelated incident, police spotted a green Suzuki Swift at the BP service station on Bathurst Road, which had previously been identified as a vehicle of interest.

The Swift reversed from the service station and sped east on Summer Street between 80-100km/h.

Police again terminated the chase before the Swift ran the red light at Anson Street, striking a white sedan.

Police stopped to assist the occupants, who were taken to Orange Health Service as a precaution, but later recovered the Swift. 

Chief Inspector Harvey said one boy under 18 was arrested in relation to the Thursday incident, but police were looking for any other information on the three matters, particularly dash cam footage. 

“We want to identify these people and take them before the court,” he said. 

Skye’s Law carries a maximum of three years’ jail for a first offence and five years for a repeat offence.
