Team 1 Keegan snuck home by one point over Team 6 Bevan with wins for Jesse Keegan, Frank Cavalli, Rod Bevan, Kynan Baker, Jarrod Collett, Craig Hausler and Lyle Davis, while the maestro Chris Doucas upset a sluggish Charles D'Aquino in four games.
Team 2 Garton hammered Team 5 Goes with wins for Glenn Atkinson, Mark Goes, Scott Baker, Nathan Garton, Kial Huysmans, Brett Mahlo and Robyn Chapman beat an irate Sonya Fitzgerald, while cult hero Steve Blackwood started well against newcomer Troy Seers but fatigued badly to go down in four long games.
Team 4 Mahlo overcame a gallant Team 3 Abberton with wins for George Eleftheriou over his bunny Grant Michell, Darren Wooding, Lindsay Mahlo, Tony Elliot, Lyle Davis and Audrey Schmich, while Mick Keegan had his first win for the comp beating a dejected Tim Howarth in four.
Belinda Thurtell was like a bull out of a gate storming to a 2-nil lead over Nashdale legend Michael Abberton, but the latter settled and found his length to storm home and salute the crowd after winning in five marathon games.
