When Frank Mohun, the owner of Nile Street cafe needs time out from serving he heads to an unassuming eatery where he can be anonymous for awhile.
With his wife Kathryn Mohun at his side, the duo head to Pickle and Fig - a little cafe located at The Wellness House in Orange.
About once a month the colleague-couple have something "fresh and wholesome" for lunch from the Bathurst Road cafe's rotating menu.
"We eat a lot more complicated dishes throughout the week and sometimes you want a break from that," Mr Mohun said.
"It's not a destination spot so to speak but a good place to drop into."
He said something fresh like fritters will often take his fancy which he'll usually have with a long black and cold milk on the side.
Having moved from Singleton five years ago where he ran a general store, Mr Mohun said he's worked in hospitality all his life and for him a good place requires good people.
"I like the personal connection with people. If you've got that, good service and good food will flow on," he said.
