A MAN has been charged after an elderly woman was allegedly indecently assaulted during a break in at a retirement home in Blayney.

It’s alleged an 85-year-old woman was asleep in a unit of a retirement home on Adelaide Street about 11.40pm on Monday when she was woken by someone touching her.
The woman saw a man in her room committing an act of indecency, and challenged him.
These charges also relate to a break in at a commercial property in Blayney the same evening.
The man left the room and the woman escorted him out of the unit before notifying police when she saw the man looking in her bedroom window.
Officers from Chifley Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 41-year-old man at a Cowra home on Tuesday.
He was taken to Cowra Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, sexually touch another person without consent, break and enter house and steal, receive property – theft, possess prohibited drug, and possess unregistered firearm.
These charges also relate to a break in at a commercial property in Blayney the same evening.
The man appeared in Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday and was refused bail to appear at the same court on Monday, April 8.
