A report to Orange City Council said works were required to fix defects to the pipeline’s remote operation and pump systems, to be complete later this week, plus testing on the effluent line sabotaged in 2017 revealed there was still a leak.
“While over the length of a 10-kilometre water main a leak of this nature would be considered insignificant, the fact that this is an effluent line requires council to exercise a higher level of diligence,” the report said.
“Additional section valves have been installed to subdivide the pipeline to isolate the final leak’s location and further pressure testing is to be undertaken.”
Central Tablelands Water is yet to replace the water main for the Lake Rowlands supply to the Carcoar treatment plant.
