Committee member Monica Engel said the dinner will be an opportunity for people who are new to Orange, particularly people from other countries to meet new people and for interested residents to welcome newcomers to the region.
She said it is also an opportunity for people from other countries to practice their English.
“It’s just very casual, bring a plate [of food to share],” Ms Engel said.
Other events will also be held throughout the year including a Latin night and the next event will be Harmony Day on March 23.
Ms Engel said because people bring food to share and it is a casual event people do not need to book.
The Stories from Far Horizons dinner will be held at the Orange Senior Citizen’s Centre, Nguluway Ngurang, in Kite Street between 6pm and 8pm. There is also rear entry through the Woolworths car park.
