The two-and-a-half-year-old male desexed St Bernard cross breed has always lived with a small family and would prefer his new family to be calm and peaceful with no small children.
The family would also need to be experienced with handling large dog breeds and he needs to be the only dog at his new home.
He does jump up at times when he gets excited at the kennel at the RSPCA shelter in William Street, but he responds well to treats and is trained to sit and heel on a lead.
RSPCA staff say he would need to be monitored when he first interacts with new people and visitors because he can become anxious around strangers.
However, they also say he is a lovely boy and is looking for a home with a family who can include him in day to day activities and ensure he gets plenty of exercise.
He will also need a large yard with minimum five-foot strong Colorbond fencing.
