The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and Catholic Church Insurance Giving are accepting applications to the In a Good Place grants to support health projects across Australia.
The grants will be offered to community-driven initiatives which reduce social isolation, increase social participation, and increase help-seeking for people who are experiencing mental health issues.
Roberto Scenna, CEO of CCI and Director of CCI Giving, said that the program's opening is timely, especially as the worsening drought takes a toll.
“It’s imperative that people work together to support one another, and these grants can be a way to develop stronger, more resilient communities by implementing local solutions to local issues,” he said.
The 2018 round of the program supported 14 groups to improve mental health through a range of initiatives, including counselling and response training and hosting community healing events.
Applications for the 2019 grants will close on March 14.
