Easier said than done considering they face Lithgow, who’ve had the wood on the Warriors since re-entering the competition in 2014-15.
While calling Lithgow the Warriors’ bogey side would be drawing a long bow considering they’ve only played twice in that period, Orange City would still take immeasurable confidence from downing the Lightning for the first time.
It would also leave the greens as the competition’s only remaining undefeated side, Orange City ended St Pat’s Old Boys’ run a fortnight ago while Cavaliers were stunningly upset by Bathurst City just last week.
The maroons had already locked up top spot in pool B prior to that though, with Centennials Bulls finishing second.
With those standings in mind, if Orange City wins they’ll take on the Bulls in the cross-over semi-finals while if they’re bested again by Lithgow they’ll face Cavaliers.
Western Zone quick Jackson Coote remains in doubt for Orange City with a back injury, they're expected to be at full strength otherwise.
Friday night’s blockbuster clash starts at 7pm, with one remaining preliminary stage game the following week.
