The duo will make the trip in from their property which is located halfway to Dubbo to sell their fare at the Orange Farmer’s Market this Saturday.

Ms Mitchell said their Breba crop – an Italian term for ‘the small crop on the old wood’ – came in before Christmas and now the “main season is going full throttle”.

She said the Curra Creek property’s location on the cusp of the tablelands and slopes has meant they’re harvest is often different to neighbouring fig growers a few hours up the road.

“We’ve been fortunate in that we had some decent rains all through Spring and right through the summer,” she said.

“It means Orange customers have access to a much longer fig season.”

The Curra Creek Figs crew will also have a selection of cucumber, garlic and fresh produce to sell alongside their figs.

While figs have been a little slow to ripen for some Orange producers this year, Martelli’s Orchard, Thornbrook Orchard, and Mastronardi’s will have fresh local produce available and Borenore Berry Farm will be there with strawberries and other fruits.

The Orange Farmer’s Market is on at the Northcourt from 8:30-12pm on Saturday.
