The festival coincides with Banjo Paterson’s birthday and is now in its sixth year.
Festival chairman Murray Spicer said this year’s edition would build on Orange’s reputation as a wine and food destination, with a number of signature events highlighting local produce.
The festival will include of a poetry brawl, more theatre and performance and a festival dinner hosted in Molong.
The iconic poet, ballad writer, solicitor, war correspondent, keen sportsman and horseman was born on the property Narrambla near Orange on February 17, 1864.

Some of the festival’s events:
- Breakfast with Banjo for Banjo’s birthday at Banjo Paterson Park, Ophir Road, on Sunday, February 17.
- Banjo Paterson Festival Night Market at Robertson Park with more than 30 stallholders, live music and poetry on Friday, February 22.
- Banjo Paterson Festival Dinner - Molong is a night of poetry, three course dinner and dancing at Molong's Village Green with music by Cecelia Rochelli and Trouble With Johnny Band. Poetry performance by Marco Gliori on Saturday, February 23.
- Family Day Market at Emmaville Cottage will include kids’ activities, entertainment and open mic for poetry on Sunday, February 24 in the Orange Botanic Gardens Precinct.
