Corben accumulated an astonishing 170 runs as he batted for the better part of 70 overs as his side compiled 4-366 declared on a Wade Park deck which resembled the Mitchell Highway.
The wicketkeeper-bat is now averaging 54 in 2018-19, and aside from teammate Josh Doherty’s 190 last season has one of the highest ODCA scores in years.
“It was nice to finally break that hundred, I felt like I’d been hitting the ball well this season so to get three figures is nice,” Corben said.
“I was just hitting the ball well, I got a couple of chances from the Centrals boys but I think once I get to 100 I don’t change a lot.”
There were a few chances, with an LBW shout turned down before he got off the mark and a caught behind denied on 30, but Centrals didn’t help themselves dropping him several times after he brought up the triple figures.
Corben said there was far more to the innings than hit knock, with the rest of the batters in the side supporting him, with young guns Bailey Ferguson and Hugh Middleton both making 54 and Kaleb Cook breezing his way to 42 as the side went for quick runs late.
“From a team point of view we had two partnerships over 100 and one of 80 so that ticket a lot of boxes,” Corben said.

Cavs declared with 10 overs remaining in the day and did plenty of damage early, with Centrals 3-11 at stumps after Mitch Pearce took two wickets and Josh Doherty – who missed out with the bat – taking the other.
Corben said a lot of that was due to the declaration.
“I think that’s purely fatigue, they’ve been out in the field for 70-odd overs and it’s never nice to come back in and bat for 10 so I think that helped us,” he said.
Centrals skipper Daryl Kennewell admitted it was a “tough day” and praised the innings of his opposite number.
“It was a flat deck, we bowled too full on occasion, after their second drinks break we decided to bowl a bit shorter and the chances started coming and we put the men out deep,” he said.
“We get most our batters back next week, Tedeschi, Hamish McIntyre, Jack Dodds and Nick Dunlop returning.”
