Playing a supporting role in Book Week, Ms Pritchard is Miss Vines –  a no nonsense school administrator who is fed up with the bad behaviour of teacher and suffering writer Nicholas Cutler, played by Alan Dukes.

Filmed at Katoomba and Lithgow High Schools “on a shoestring budget of $100,000”, Book Week tells the story of Mr Cutler, who is forced to question his career after his second novel fails to take the expected trajectory.

The daughter of the late Frank and Jess Pritchard, who once ran Pritchard's Menswear in Orange, said her character has no time for Mr Cutler.

“She doesn’t suffer fools and she thinks he’s a huge fool,” she said.

Residing in Melbourne, Ms Pritchard has worked mostly in musical theatre, working alongside Hugh Jackman in the stage adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. 

Filmed in the Blue Mountains over the school holidays, Book Week premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival and has since been shown at independent cinemas all over Australia.

The film also stars Tiriel Mora from The Castle and Rys Muldoon from House Husbands.

Screen Australia have named it the Number 2 Aussie Film of 2018

Book Week will be shown at the Odeon 5 Cinema on Monday at 6.30pm.
