Rowlee Wines owner Nicole Samodol took part in the Meet the Makers: Women in Wine event last year and this year will return to Sydney for the expanded Meet the Makers Women in Beer Wine and Spirits.
The event will feature an all female line-up of up to 30 brewers, wine makers and distillers and will be held in Sydney on March 8 and 9 to coincide with International Women’s Day.
“Last year it was exclusively focused on wine, this year it’s expanded,” Ms Samodol said.
There’s two aspects, one is introducing your wine to new customers who may not be used to your brand, the other thing will be networking with other women in wine and seeing how they run their businesses.

She said last year she was among other female wine makers from the Hunter Valley, Western Australia and South Australia and she decided to return because it was such a positive experience.
“There’s two aspects, one is introducing your wine to new customers who may not be used to your brand, the other thing will be networking with other women in wine and seeing how they run their businesses,” Ms Samodol said.
Ms Samodol said her family had the wine business for 18 years and she has been working full-time with the business for two years.
Cellarmasters cellar director Christine Ricketts said the event is about shining a well-deserved spotlight on women who are working in the traditionally male-dominated industries.
“But thanks to these trailblazing women, this is now changing,” she said.
She said the number of women employed in wine making is estimated to be 38 percent but when it comes to leadership and senior roles, female representation has been estimated at 10 per cent or less.
Meet the Makers: Women in Beer, Wine & Spirits is taking place at Australian Technology Park in Sydney, and kicks off with a session on Friday, March 8 and two more sessions take place on Saturday, March 9.
