A review of property sales in Orange in 2018 by Domain has revealed our top five city sales were all for more than $1 million.
And the agent who sold the highest priced house said he expected the million dollar-plus trend would continue in 2019.
Alistair Miller of LJ Hooker Orange real estate said there was still demand for our high-end properties.
“It’s one part of the market that has really stayed strong,” he said.
Mr Miller said while the Sydney property market was down Orange remained attractive to buyers.
“While people are struggling to get loans in Sydney there’s a natural [reaction], ‘what are our other options?” he said.
It's one part of the market that has really stayed strong.

“I think we obviously benefit when the Sydney economy is going good, but we might get a secondary bonus from it going not so good.
“Our schools attract people, people off farms are retiring to Orange and our lifestyle is the number one attraction, people love the place.
“I think all these little things add to the reputation of the town.
“The really high end of the market is going to stay strong,” he said.
