Woodbridge Cup takes on the Mudgee Dragons, the Castlereagh girls face off against the Dubbo Goannas and newly-formed duo Panorama Platypi and Orange Vipers have been drawn to play each other in the premiership’s opening round on February 9.
Drawing from the Group 10 talent pool that stormed to last year’s inaugural title, the Orange-based Vipers are still on the hunt for players and will hold a come and try evening at Anzac Park on Wednesday, from 6pm.
The clinic is open to any female turning 13 or above in 2019. This year’s WWRL will hold competitions for opens, under 18s and under 15s.
“Playing for the Vipers WRL is the first step on the road to being a Jillaroo,” Western regional operations coordinator Evan Jones said.
“Isabelle Kelly, Ruan Sims and Sammy Bremner all started their journey to the Jillaroos with their local CRL club.”
Anyone interested in Wednesday’s clinic, or the five-week WWRL competition, can contact Jones on 0428 133 446 for more information.
Round one of the 2019 WWRL kicks off on February 9, while a top-four finals series begins on March 17 and a grand final will be staged on March 23.
