Aside from that team success a number of individuals from across the carnival’s 18 teams produced epic performances – tons, five-wicket hauls, strings of run outs, you name it it happened.
So, with that in mind, the Central Western Daily sports desk decided to trawl through the numbers – using some of what we watched as a guide as well – to pick our team of the tournament.
WILL ALLEN (Inner West Harbour)
Finished third in the run-scoring stakes with 127 at an average of 42, and is as genuine an opening bat as you’ll find… until you hit his partner in this side. Knocked up a half-ton as well.
BLAKE PHILLIPS (North West Sydney Gold)
Like Allen, has a strike rate of around 42 and is a genuine opening bat. Scored 125 runs at 41 with a highest score of 61, a good carnival and looks an excellent prospect for the Hurricanes.
RAAKIN RAHMAN (ACT Blue)
Statistically the best bat in the tournament with 162 runs at an average of 81, 101 of those came in his unbeaten, grand final century. No mean feat to score a ton like that under pressure, and no mean feat to have a strike rate of 122.7 for the carnival either.
BRENEVAN PADMESWARAN (Parramatta)
Another star with the willow, finished behind only Rahman in knocking up 145 runs while, incredibly, not being dismissed once. Smashed an unbeaten, even 100 in the second game.
JAMES LENNOX (Penrith – captain)
We’re giving him the captaincy after leading his side to victory over Dubbo on day three and impressing us six ways to Sunday with his leadership of the City side in the exhibition Twenty20 game. Averaged 40, largely due to his a top score of 108.
HARRY ROSCAREL (Lachlan)
Gives the side some more batting depth and another bowling option. He was the tournament’s fifth best bat with 119 at 59.5 including two half-tons and even though he only took two wickets, he bowled eight overs in every game and was economical too.

NOAH HARPER (Wagga Wagga)
Our genuine all-rounder. Averaged 36 with the bat and scored 108 runs, including a top score of 67, and picked up six wickets at 6.5 as well. Great numbers.
TOBY RODWELL (Illawarra – wicketkeeper)
Had a good carnival with the gloves taking three catches and two stumping too, both of which came on the final day against Parramatta. Didn’t do as well with the bat, but we’re picking him on his wicketkeeping alone.
JACOB LAMB (Mitchell Cricket Council)
The carnival’s best bowler by the numbers, Lamb snared 10 wickets at 4.6 apiece and an outrageous strike rate of 11.4. Had best figures of 5-27 in the Black Caps’ final day loss to Blacktown.
AARUSH PATEL (ACT Yellow)
Built into his carnival before finishing with a flourish, and by flourish we mean 5-16 from eight overs against Inner West Harbour. That bumped him up to third on the wicket-taking list with eight, at 4.5 each.
RYAN GOODSELL (Lachlan)
The second best bowler by the numbers, Goodsell snared nine wickets at an average of 6.2, his best effort of 4-17 coming on the final day against North West Sydney Maroon.
