Kim has been with the club for about 18 years and has been a significant part of her life.
Kim hardly ever misses a run and has had a mortgage on the consistency trophy for many years (now only 500 to go for 2000 runs Kim!).
Congratulations to Amber Rich who was the handicap winner today.
Placegetters this week in the 4km were Amber Rich was first in a time of 18:04. Annabelle Hoise second (22:15) followed by Kylie Duncan in 24:00 for the women, while Michael Duncan was the first male in 22:28 followed by Michael Sharp 23:13 and Lachlan Duncan with some assistance from Mum and Dad 3rd in 24:01.
Over 8km, Carissa Hickey reverted back to the shorter distance this week and was first home for the women in a time of 41.08. Kim Jarvis second in 53:05 and Mel Bolton 3rd in 55.51, meanwhile it was the young men who took up the podium with Hugh Daintith 44:50 holding off Hugh Corcoran and Lachie Ross (44:56.
Congratulations to all the members that took on the long 12.7km course challenge in the hot conditions with over 300m of climbing and tricky surface in places - you are all winners today.
For the women, Leanne Corcoran was first in 1:12:51 followed by Alicia Ross 1:21:31 and our visitor today from Sydney Simone Donald third 1:22:46.
For the men, Iain McLean blitzed the field out the front in a time of 1:01:46. Ian Spurway 1:16:02 pipped Anthony Daintith 1:16:25 into second place.
Very hot conditions on Wednesday afternoon which keep the numbers down slightly at Elephant Park. Jeremy Curtin had his first run with the club and Will Miller was the handicap winner.
In the ladies, Liz Simpson was first in a time of 12:13. Leanne Corcoran was second 12.51 running with Alicia Ross in third 12.53. Jeremy Curtin certainly made an impression in his first run finishing first in a time of 12.03. Daryl Roweth was second 12.27 ahead of Joel Broadfoot 12.34 in third position.
Our next trail run is on tomorrow morning at Kinross Forest (revised start time of 6:30am). Short course is 6km and the long course of 14.5km (great training for the upcoming UTA events). Our normal 9am run is Endeavour Oval.
The Orange Running Festival is coming up very quickly March 2-3 – perfect time to enter and pay the early bird price by February 3.
Next week we have our next trail run at Kinross Forest - details to be provided soon. Our normal Sunday run will be at Endeavour Oval at 9am. Otherwise our Wednesday handicap run is at 5pm.
