A ticket purchased at Parkers Greengate Newsagency was part of a syndicate entry which claimed the $544,506 division one prize on Saturday.
The lucky Orange winner took home a tenth of that pool, or $54,450.
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said there’s a chance the winner doesn’t even know it yet.
“While we’ll be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their entry to their NSW Players Club cards, there are several syndicate members who have unregistered entries,” she said.
Greengate’s Stephen Parker said people were excited about Thursday’s $100 million Powerball draw.
“The jackpot has been growing over the past six or seven years to get to where it is and we’ve noticed it growing busier,” he said.
The newsagency sold the ticket to the biggest prize in Orange, with $6 million in 2007.
