The seven-day forecast for the city from www.weatherzone.com.au, published on Sunday, tipped 2019’s hottest temperatures in the coming week.
Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to reach a sweltering 37 degrees Celsius, with Tuesday (34 degrees) and Friday (35 degrees) not too far behind.
There’s little to no rain on the horizon, and no storms predicted, which is a marked contrast to last week, when thunder and lightning were a common occurrence.
Should the forecast come true, the year’s warmest mark – 34.7 degrees recorded on January 2 – would be comfortably eclipsed.
There will be limited relief at night, with the minimum temperatures to be a the warmer side as well.
That will be especially true in the back end of the week, where night-time temperatures are not expected to dip below 20 degrees.

Evening storms brought welcome downpours to Orange on Friday night when about 13 millimetres of rain recorded overnight.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, between 5pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday, 12.6 millimetres was recorded at the Orange Regional Airport.

Although welcome, the region didn’t get the wet hammering recorded at Goulburn, where 48.8 millimetres was recorded by 9am on Saturday, or Young, which received 45.2 millimetres of rain in the same period.
Closer to home, Bathurst recorded 33.4 millimetres, Lithgow 27 millimetres and Cowra 24.4 millimetres.
